Romans 5

18 All people have suffered from the sinful nature we have inherited from Adam. However, the escape from the penalty of sin is available to all because of the righteousness of Jesus.
20 In general, sin is selfish behavior that is a detriment to others. Humans, however, do not deal well with such general terms. Consequently, laws are needed to define what sin is. When a law is broken, it becomes much easier to say that a sin has occurred. However, when we come to know God and accept the salvation offered through Jesus, we are forgiven of those offenses that have and have not been defined by laws.
21 Despite the pain, suffering, and death caused by sin, we have hope that all this will end on Judgement Day. On that Day, we will live in the loving, good, and perfect presence of God because of our faith in Jesus.
