Matthew 27

25 The people were so passionate about having Jesus killed that they willingly took the responsibility for His death, and even allowed the guilt to rest on their children. While this cry expressly rejected the Messiah, it is, ironically, the same cry the Christian makes when he first believes. When we ask Christ's blood to come on us, we are asking for the forgiveness of sins that can only come about because of His self-sacrifice on the cross. Our sins are "washed away by the blood of the Lamb [a.k.a., Jesus]."
46 Jesus quotes from the first line of Psa 22. This psalm is an amazing prophecy that summarized Jesus' life, mission, and death.
50 The executioners did not take Jesus' life -- He gave it up on His own accord.
