14 See Mat 6:21. It is interesting that wealth often brings with it worries as well as pleasures. What Jesus' point here is that these things all cloud our vision and keep us from paying attention to what is really important. Notice also that these are people who have heard the Good News, but have turned away from it.
15 Two Greek words for "good" are used here. One (kalos) connotes beauty, fine quality, and moral virtue. The other (agaqos) connotes moral goodness, political nobility, and bravery.Hearing is not enough. The word (katexw) means to conquer, take possession, and dwell in a territory. If we are to be followers of Christ we must also hear, understand, and apply what He says.
