Genesis 5

1 This is the end of the second written record and is attributed to Adam. A brief summary follows, and then the third written record starts in Gen 5:3.
4 Adam lived 930 years. This is currently unheard of, but before the flood this was not unusual. Man was made to live forever, and it was only because of sin that he dies at all. It appears that before the flood, special conditions prevailed that prevented many problems such as skin cancer. The gene pool at this time would have been perfect, so there would be no such thing as genetic diseases.
5 This is the first recorded "natural" death.
24 Enoch is only one of two people recorded that pleased God so much that He translated directly into His presence.
27 The oldest recorded life span.
31 Lamech would have died just before the Flood.
